  • What is SOAK?

    SOAK is a decomodified pack-it-in-pack-it-out leave no trace event and adheres to all of the community values, which were adopted directly from Burning Man’s 10 Principles. It is a sanctioned Burning Man regional event that happens near Portland, Oregon on Memorial Day weekend.

  • What does "SOAK" mean?

    Depends on who you ask. We encourage you to believe whatever story you enjoy best.

    What we do know for sure is that you should always put an asterisk between the name and the year, like this: SOAK*2024.

  • When do tickets go on sale?

    Mainsale tickets go on sale sometime in March. There are also a limited number of Patron and Subsidized tickets available. Join the mailing list or check out the ticket page for more info.

  • Do children need tickets?

    Children do require a ticket to enter SOAK, however these tickets are free for children 12 and under and can be acquired like other tickets through Humanitx

  • What are the Covid-19 requirements?

    Participants are not required to be fully vaccinated to attend SOAK. Read the full SOAK Covid Policy here.

  • How do I volunteer

    SOAK is an entirely volunteer run event. You can find out more about volunteering and sign up on the Volunteer page.

  • Do I need an RV pass?

    If you wish to bring your RV/van/camper to SOAK you must purchase an RV Pass. An RV is considered any vehicle permanently modified for camping with a bed and sink. Camping in an unmodified passenger vehicle at SOAK is not allowed (ie, no mattresses in the back of pickup trucks, etc). Remember: space is tight and RV passes are limited.

  • Is water available?

    While there are designated handwashing stations at each porto bank, the event does not provide any potable water to participants. You are responsible for bringing everything you need to the event, and packing it all out (that includes grey water).

  • Is ice available?

    Yes! Ice will be available onsite at $5/bag, cash & Venmo accepted. Check your map once you arrive to find the ice station.

  • Who puts on SOAK?

    SOAK Producers manage a team of approximately 70 Leads who oversee 26 departments which depend on more than 500 community volunteers committing thousands of hours to make the event a success. Precipitation Northwest is the non-profit organization who oversees the event, while the Regional Contacts ensure we maintain the 10 Principles of Burning Man.

  • How do I stay informed?

    Updates and general information about SOAK and other PNW events are sent out via the Mailing List and the SOAK Facebook page.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Pets are not allowed at SOAK. Registered service animals are welcome and can be registered through the ADA Form on the Forms Page.

  • Can I print my SOAK ticket at home?

    No! All tickets are at Will Call, and everyone will have to pass through Will Call to enter the event. There are no physical or print-at-home tickets.
